Mister Domestic Mathew Boudreaux

Fabric weaving is basically the coolest thing that you can do with fabric. It’s magical and amazing and takes way less time than you’d think. The very first time I did the Tumbling Blocks Weave, it blew my mind. And after you do it once, I promise you’ll want to weave everything. So, come join me for my Tumbling Blocks Weave Class at the CCQ Quiltfest because it’s going to be super fun and rad and basically a fabric party.

Our 2019 Teachers

Mister Domestic - Mathew Boudreaux

Mathew Boudreaux of Mister Domestic learned to sew as a kid, but never really got into it until he had his daughter Helena, who is now four and a half. He thought it would be a great way to connect with her if he could make her cool clothes. Once he started posted his projects on social media, the quilting world quickly took notice of his fearless use of color and print, incomprehensibly fast output, carefree enthusiasm and humor, and ability to seek out, acquire and share new skills.

Making projects from fabric weaving to English Paper Piecing to apparel to 3-dimensional, you can find his party on Instagram, Facebook and You Tube.  As a fabric designer, get ready to bring this party into overdrive as he translates his chic, edgy, and whimsical style into an in person experience for everyone to enjoy.

Melanie Sadler

The first time Melanie Sadler sat down at a sewing machine was at her grandmother’s treadle machine.  A life-long sewist, Melanie sewed her own clothes through high school, sewed for her kids as they grew, and discovered a love for quilting over 25 years ago.

Rather than create patterns and designs from scratch, she loves to take an idea and add personal touches with color, embroidery, and embellishments.

She is a sewing teacher, long arm quilter, small business owner, and works for a local quilt shop. With a strong love for faith and family, she currently resides in the Portland, Oregon metro area with a golden retriever named Jack, a tabby cat named Baxter, and seven adorable grandchildren.
