Mathew Boudreaux (AKA Mister Domestic) will be the Featured Quilter at our 2019 quilt show. He will have a display of his quilts available for viewing.
He says: "I’m beyond excited to be teaching both my Flowermania English Paper Piecing and Tumbling Blocks Weave Classes at the CCQ Quiltfest in 2019. Mister Domestic is all about spreading joy and positivity through sewing and fabric play and this is the environment that I try to foster in my classes. My own personal motto as a sewist and maker is that I strive for 95% perfection because I feel that final 5% really has the chance to steal your joy if you let it. It’s not to say you won’t learn the skills you’d need to be a 100 %-er, but oopsie daisies are definitely “design choices” as far as I’m concerned. So if you’re down for a super positive, fun, joyful experience where you’ll learn some new skills and leave feeling awesome, make sure to sign up for one or both of my classes."
Mathew Boudreaux of Mister Domestic learned to sew as a kid, but never really got into it until he had his daughter Helena, who is now four and a half. He thought it would be a great way to connect with her if he could make her cool clothes. Once he started posted his projects on social media, the quilting world quickly took notice of his fearless use of color and print, incomprehensibly fast output, carefree enthusiasm and humor, and ability to seek out, acquire and share new skills.
