A thriving and diverse business founded by Dirk and Harriet Boersma, as a small vacuum shop in Chicago in 1935. When a customer walked in searching for a sewing machine, the Boersmas added a line of Pfaff sewing machines to their inventory the very next day. Boersma’s Sewing Center Inc. was born, and continues to grow today. Before coming to McMinnville, OR, in 1962, other stops were located in Yakima, WA; Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN; and Bozeman, MT. In 1975, Dirk and Harriet sold the store to their son, Jack. Under Jack’s ownership, they’ve added a vast selection of fabric and quilting machines to their inventory, for all-inclusive service. Because Jack grew up with the business, he has more than 45 years of experience and knowledge about vacuums and sewing. He became the store’s head repairman at age 12. Dirk and Harriet ran the business for the first 40 years, and now Jack and his wife Michelle, have managed it for the second 40 years. Visit the store for the latest machines, plentiful supplies, and friendly service.
"Since 1949, it has been our family's mission to help inspire everyone to enjoy a love of sewing. Through friendly customer service, competitive prices, expert advice, and generations of experience, we will continue to do so for years to come. Welcome to our family."

Craft Warehouse began in the late 1970’s when Jerry Williams and his wife Sonja decided to take what they’d learned from the experience of running Ben Franklin Variety Stores and open an all crafts supply store. Having originally moved to Camas, Washington in the early Seventies to take over ownership of a local burger cafe, Jerry and Sonja opened their first Craft Warehouse stores in the late 1970’s in the Oregon towns of Medford and Gresham.
The William’s three sons became a part of the business early on. To this day all three brothers manage the eight locations and you’ll frequently see them in the stores. Jerry and Sonja have since retired, but are still involved, and now a new generation, their grandchildren, are working at Craft Warehouse.
